A new work commissioned for Brisbane Festival 2020
Polytoxic collaborates with a plethora of local creative minds to bring you a time capsule of “now”. Snapshot is a remix of epic proportions – an immersive world of large-scale projection, soundscape and live aerial performance giving praise to the artistic community who transformed their whole world in isolation, but never stopped giving.
From visual artists, to dancers, to writers, theatre makers and musicians, over 100 local artists contributed to this work, sending their reflections, celebrations and memories of life under lockdown. These stories have been interwoven with breath-taking aerials and visual uprisings, projected on the walls of the home of contemporary performing arts – The Brisbane Powerhouse.
Through the Polytoxic vision of collective creative power, Snapshot is a heartburst of gratitude to our beloved arts community, shout out to the movers, dreamers and the makers, a homage to the faces behind the art, and a timely reminder that artists have the capacity to change the world.
